# Integrate with Attio

> Connect Attio to find, create, and update CRM records from your Zite app.

## How it works

[Attio](https://attio.com) helps teams manage customer relationships. Connect it to build directories, intake forms, and record editors around your CRM. App visitors don’t need their own Attio accounts; your app uses the workspace access you approve.

By connecting Attio, you can:

* Search and display CRM records
* Create records for people, companies, and other available record types
* Update details on existing records
* Match an existing record before creating a new one
* Build filtered views using your Attio fields

## How to integrate Attio into your app

**1. Connect to Attio**

Ask Zite to connect your app to Attio in the chat box. Alternatively, click **+**, select **Integrations**, then choose **Attio**.

Sign in to Attio, choose the workspace, and approve the requested access. You can select an existing connection if one is available.

**2. Describe your use case**

Tell Zite which records your team needs to work with. For example, “Build a company directory with a form to update account details.”

For intake forms, explain how to recognize an existing record so the app can update it instead of creating a duplicate.

**3. Test and publish**

Use a sample record to test searching, creating, and editing. Check the result in Attio, including any fields that can hold several values.

Click **Publish** in the upper-right corner to make the Attio features available in your live app.

## Common use cases

With an Attio connection, you can create apps like:

* **Company Directories:** Search and view customer details.
* **Lead Intake:** Capture new prospects and update matching records.
* **Account Editors:** Let your team maintain customer information.
* **Pipeline Views:** Group CRM records by status or other fields.

## Important notes

* **Workspace access:** The app uses the connected Attio workspace and its granted permissions. Choose who can use your app with that access in mind.
* **Matching records:** Tell Zite which unique field identifies an existing record. Duplicate prevention depends on the matching rule your app uses.
* **Field options:** Status and select fields must use options that exist in Attio. Say whether an edit should add to or replace existing selections.
* **Complete lists:** For large directories, ask for all matching records across multiple pages of results. A single page is not the entire workspace.
* **Connection errors:** If access has been revoked, reconnect Attio. For other failures, share the error with Zite so it can check the field values or request limits.
