# Move a form into a Zite workspace

> Move a form into a Zite workspace so it lives with that project's database and apps. This includes Fillout forms.

You can move a form into a Zite workspace so it lives with that project's database and apps. If you built the form in Fillout, the same steps apply.

How you move it depends on what the form is connected to.

After moving, find the form under **Forms** in the workspace sidebar and its connected table under **Database**. In the compact sidebar, open **More → Forms**. Workspace editors can edit the form; permission to use an app alone does not give form-editing access.

## Connected to one Zite database

You need edit access to the form, its Zite Database, and every other app or form moving with it. You also need edit access to the Classic workspace containing the database, or the form's Classic workspace if the database is not in one. If you don't have this access, ask an organization admin to migrate it for you.

When you open the form in the editor, Zite asks you to move it into a workspace.

**1. Get started**

On **Forms are now part of connected workspaces**, select **Get started**.

**2. Name your workspace**

Enter a name under **Workspace**. **In this workspace** lists the form, any other apps and forms that use the same database, and the database. They all move together.

**3. Migrate**

Select **Migrate**. This usually takes around 30 seconds. Keep this tab open. Everyone with access to the database today keeps access to the new workspace.

The workspace is built around the form's database, so it can't join a different workspace.

## Connected to Airtable, or no database

If the form has no Zite Database connection, you can add it to a workspace you already have. It can keep an Airtable connection.

**1. Pick the workspace**

Return to the organization home page. From inside a workspace, open its name at the top of the sidebar and select **All workspaces**. Open the form's three-dot menu, select **Move to**, then pick a workspace under **Workspaces**. You need edit access to the form and the destination workspace.

**2. Choose where submissions are saved**

Choose **New table** and enter a table name, or choose **Existing table** and pick one. For an existing table, select **Continue**, then match each question to a column. To copy existing responses into the table, check **Import past submissions**.

**3. Move and publish**

Select **Move form**, then **Publish**. New submissions save to the table only after you publish.

Submit a test response, then open **Database** in the workspace and check that it appears in the table you selected.

After the move, only members with access to the workspace can edit the form. An Airtable connection stays on the form.

For a form that isn't already in a Zite workspace, **Workspaces** appears under **Move to** when you have access to at least one Zite workspace. If the form can't move this way, the menu shows an explanation instead of destinations. To create a workspace, select **+** next to **Workspaces** in the organization sidebar. This doesn't move the form, so come back and move it afterwards.

## Connected to more than one Zite database

A form connected to more than one Zite Database can't be moved into a workspace. This includes databases the form reads information from, as well as those it saves submissions to. An Airtable connection does not count toward this restriction.

Zite doesn't ask you to migrate the form automatically. If **Workspaces** is shown under **Move to**, you'll see **This form already saves to a database. Turn that database into a workspace instead.** Contact [support@zite.com](mailto:support@zite.com) for help.

## Something went wrong finishing setup

If the database and forms moved but workspace setup is incomplete, you'll see a **Setup didn't finish** banner with a **Finish setup** button. Finishing setup can take a few minutes. Keep the tab open.

It is safe to select **Finish setup** again. If it shows **Something went wrong finishing setup. Please try again.** and keeps failing, contact [support@zite.com](mailto:support@zite.com).

If the workspace is ready but an individual app didn't finish, follow that app's setup message and select **Retry setup** when offered. If a connection is missing, use **Manage connections** to reconnect it before retrying.

This can happen when:

* Your connection dropped while setup was running
* An Airtable connection that one of the workspace's apps uses was deleted, or can no longer open its Airtable base
* Something failed on our side while setting up the apps

Other messages you might see:

* **A migration is already running for this project.** Wait for it to finish, then try again.
* **An update is being deployed and workspace setup could not finish.** Try again in a couple of minutes.
* **Your account is missing permissions required to finish setup.** Ask an admin to finish setting up the workspace.
