How it works
Google Maps provides maps and location search. Connect it to your Zite app to help people find stores, properties, or service locations. The app uses your Google Maps key, so visitors do not need to connect a Google account. By connecting Google Maps, you can:- Display locations on a map
- Add pins with location details
- Search for places
- Suggest addresses as people type
- Show directions between locations
How to integrate Google Maps into your app

Connect to Google Maps
Ask Zite to connect Google Maps, or click + in the chat box, select Integrations, then choose Google Maps. Follow Google’s setup guide to create a Google Maps key and enable billing and the map services your app needs.Paste the key into API Key in Zite and connect.

Describe your use case
Tell Zite what your map should show. For example, “Show our stores on a map. Let visitors search for a town and select a store to see its address and opening hours.”Specify whether you also need address suggestions or directions.

Test and publish
In Google Cloud, restrict the key to the websites and map services your app uses before publishing. Test map pins, search results, and any address suggestions.Click Publish in the upper right corner, then check the map on your live app.
Common use cases
With a Google Maps connection, you can create apps like:- Store Locators: Help customers find a nearby branch.
- Property Directories: Browse properties by location.
- Service Portals: Show service locations and directions.
- Booking Forms: Help customers enter an address with suggestions.
Important notes
- Google billing: Map usage is billed through your Google Cloud account. Check Google’s current pricing for the services you enable.
- Key restrictions: A map key is used in visitors’ browsers. Restrict it to your app’s websites and required map services in Google Cloud.
- Preview and live app: Allow the addresses you use for testing and publishing. Update the restrictions if you change your app’s domain.
- Blank maps or failed searches: Check billing, enabled map services, and website restrictions first. Share the error shown with Zite so it can help diagnose the app.
