How it works
OneDrive is Microsoft’s service for storing files online. Connect OneDrive to build document libraries, upload forms, and client portals. App visitors don’t need to connect their own Microsoft accounts; the app uses the account you connect. By connecting OneDrive, you can:- Browse files and folders available to the connected account
- Display file lists in your app
- Upload documents to a chosen folder
- Download files through your app
How to integrate OneDrive into your app

Connect to OneDrive
Ask Zite to connect OneDrive, or click + in the chat box, select Integrations, then choose OneDrive. Sign in to the Microsoft account whose files you want to use and approve the requested access.

Describe your use case
Name the folder to use and explain who should be able to upload, view, or download files. For example, “Let applicants upload resumes to the Job applications folder, and show those files only to our hiring team.”Zite can look up the files and folders available to your connection.

Test and publish
Upload a sample file and check its destination in OneDrive. Test viewing and downloading it with each app role to confirm that users can access only the intended files.Click Publish in the upper right corner when the workflow works as expected.
Common use cases
With a OneDrive connection, you can create apps like:- Application Portals: Collect resumes and supporting documents.
- Client Portals: Give clients access to their project files.
- Document Libraries: Let staff browse and download team resources.
- Expense Tools: Collect receipts in a designated OneDrive folder.
Important notes
- Connected account: Your app works through the account you connect, rather than each visitor’s OneDrive account.
- Folder access: Naming a folder in your request does not restrict the connection’s permissions to that folder. Tell Zite which files each app role may access, then test those rules.
- Missing files: Check that the connected account can open the folder in OneDrive and that your app is looking in the correct location.
- Uploads: Specify how files should be named and what should happen when a filename already exists. Test this before collecting real documents.
- Connection access: If access stops working, check the connected Microsoft account and approve any requested permissions when reconnecting.
