How it works
Trello organizes work on boards, lists, and cards. Connect Trello to your Zite app to read and update boards, lists, and cards, or turn a board into a client-facing app or dashboard. App visitors don’t need their own Trello accounts or seats—your app uses the account you connect. By connecting Trello, you can:- Create, update, and close Trello boards from your Zite app
- Display boards as charts, graphs, and other views in your Zite app
- Create, update, and move lists between boards
- Set app triggers to move cards between lists or boards
- Pull tasks, statuses, or project info from your board into your app
- Manage checklists, comments, and attachments on a card
How to integrate Trello into your app

Connect to Trello
Ask Zite to connect your app to Trello in the chat box. Alternatively, click + in the chat box, select Integrations, then choose Trello. You can also click the plug icon on the top right.Sign in to your Trello account.

Describe your use case
Tell Zite how you want to use Trello in your app. For example, “Give other teams a way to propose new releases without giving them access to our engineering Trello board” or “Let clients view project progress without accessing Trello.”Tell Zite which board you want to use and what information your app should show or collect.

Test and publish
Test the Trello features in your app to make sure everything works as expected. Check that releases or other updates display on your Trello board.Click
Publish in the upper right corner to deploy your changes and make the Trello integration available in your live app.Common use cases
With a Trello connection, you can create apps like:- Content Managers: Let your team manage calendars, workflows, and publishing tasks
- Client Portals: Let clients view project progress and updates without accessing Trello
- Release Planners: Let your team track upcoming releases, tasks, and progress
- Event Planners: Let your team organize events, tasks, and deadlines
- Sales Pipelines: Let your sales team track leads, contacts, and sales activities
Important notes
- No extra Trello seats: Clients, teammates, partners, and other users can access and update through your Zite app without paying for additional Trello seats.
- Account access: Your app acts through the Trello account you connect. It can only work with boards that account can access. Choose who can use your app with those permissions in mind.
- Name your board: Tell Zite which Trello board to use. Include the board name when you describe your use case.
- Boards, lists, and cards: Once connected, Zite can read and update boards, lists, and cards. You can create, update, and close boards; create, update, and move lists between boards; move cards between lists or boards with app triggers; and manage checklists, comments, and attachments on a card.
- Custom views: You can display boards as charts, graphs, and other views, and pull tasks, statuses, or project info from your board into your app.
