How it works

Enable your Zite app to send real-time notifications to Microsoft Teams. This lets your app post updates to channels based on activity, so your team stays informed. By connecting Teams, you can:
  • Send alerts to Teams when records are created, updated, or reach a specific status
  • Trigger automated messages for approvals, reminders, or time-sensitive actions
  • Send alerts using rich text formatting, including direct links to your app

How to automate notifications

1

Connect to Teams

In the chat box, request your app to be integrated with Teams or click the plug icon .Screenshot 2026 04 24 At 2 44 43 PMThen, sign in to your Microsoft work or school account.
Personal Microsoft accounts are not supported.
2

Enter your use case

Tell Zite how you want to use Teams in your app. In our example, we’ll send a message to the “General” channel every time someone volunteers.Screenshot 2026 05 12 At 3 28 43 PM
3

Deploy and share

That’s it! Notifications will now be sent to Teams.Screenshot 2026 05 12 At 3 37 01 PM
The sender of the notification in the Teams channel will be the name of the connected account.
Click Publish in the upper right corner to share or embed your app.
Modify the theme or style specific elements in your app to personalize it or match it with your brand.

Common use cases

By connecting Teams, you can easily build apps for things like:
  • Sales activity: Share updates when deals move stages or new leads are added
  • Project updates: Alert channels when tasks are created, updated, or completed
  • Approvals: Send notifications when an approval is needed or completed
  • System alerts: Trigger notifications for errors, outages, or important events in your app
  • Customer onboarding: Notify when a new customer signs up or completes key steps
