How it works
Microsoft Teams is a tool for team conversations and collaboration. Connect Teams to bring channel messages into your app or notify your team when work needs attention. App visitors don’t need to connect their own Microsoft accounts; the app uses the account you connect. By connecting Microsoft Teams, you can:- Find teams and channels available to the connected account
- Read channel messages for a team dashboard
- Post channel updates when someone takes an action in your app
- Include record details and links in notifications
How to integrate Microsoft Teams into your app

Connect to Microsoft Teams
Ask Zite to connect Microsoft Teams, or click + in the chat box, select Integrations, then choose Microsoft Teams. Sign in with a Microsoft work or school account and approve the requested access.Personal Microsoft accounts are not supported.

Describe your use case
Name the team and channel, what should trigger a message, and what it should include. For example, “When someone submits an expense, post the amount, owner, and a link to the request in our Finance team’s Approvals channel.”Zite can look up the teams and channels available to your connection.

Test and publish
Submit a sample request and check the destination, sender, content, and links in Teams. Confirm that one request produces the notifications you expect.Click Publish in the upper right corner when the workflow works as expected.
Common use cases
With a Microsoft Teams connection, you can create apps like:- Lead Trackers: Alert a sales channel when a new lead arrives.
- Approval Queues: Post a link when an expense needs review.
- Project Trackers: Share completed tasks or status changes with a team.
- Request Portals: Notify the right channel about new support or service requests.
Important notes
- Work or school accounts: Zite’s Teams connection does not support personal Microsoft accounts.
- Connected identity: Messages are sent through the account you connect. Choose an account that can access the intended team and channel.
- Missing channels: Check that the connected account belongs to the right team and can open the channel in Teams.
- App permissions: Connecting Teams does not give every app user permission to see every conversation. Tell Zite which messages and actions each role should have, then test those roles.
- Message formatting: If a notification shows formatting symbols as plain text, ask Zite to correct the Teams message formatting.
