Overview
Zite apps work in mobile browsers by default. You can also configure your app as a progressive web app (PWA), which lets visitors add your website to their phone’s home screen and open it like an app. A PWA is still your Zite website, not an app from the App Store or Google Play. The mobile settings control how that home screen version appears when someone installs it.Configure mobile settings
Add an app title
Enter the name users should see in install prompts and under the home screen
icon. If you leave this blank, Zite uses your SEO title.
Upload an app icon
Add the icon users should see on their home screen. We recommend a square 512
x 512 transparent PNG.
Choose a splash background color
Set the background color that appears while the home screen app launches.
What users experience
After your app is published, mobile visitors can add it to their home screen from their browser’s share or install menu. Once added, the app opens from the home screen with your configured title, icon, and splash background.The exact install option depends on the device and browser. On iOS, users
typically choose Add to Home Screen from Safari’s share menu. On Android,
Chrome may show an install prompt or an Add to Home screen option.

No. A Zite PWA is installed from the user’s browser, so there is no App Store or Google Play submission process.

No. Zite automatically generates the manifest file from your Mobile settings,
so it cannot be edited manually.
